During its industrial presence in Mexico, Olivetti always paid great attention to the development of cultural and friendly relations with the country, in a bidirectional process aimed at enriching both parties.
The volume “Las castas mexicanas. Un genero pictorico americano” can be considered a catalogue of works belonging to the pictorial genre of the “Mexican castes”, presented in their crude effects, but with the rigour of scientific research.
They constitute a series of works that together represent a very valuable portrait of Mexican social life during the eighteenth century.
